Hello Minty, glad to see you have not been washed away by heavy rainfall or buried under snow, as the news would have us believe. We have had some very strong winds that has set of loads of car/house alarms in the night. Driving me crazy!
I think it is best to pick your own date for Valentine's Day. Going out for an overpriced dinner on the proper day, crammed in among a glut of couples eating some horrific set menu, being bullied into purchasing a crappy rose from a guy going round with a basket. No thank you. This year we should really mix things up. Since Easter's already on the go as far as the shops are concerned, let's just do that straightaway, then Christmas seeing as some people still have the decorations up, then we can one mass birthday in February. That'll get most things out of the way and then we can chill out for the rest of the year.
I don't mind a bit of cheese on toast-as a matter of fact for lunches recently I've been addicted to having one slice of bread, tuna and a slice of cheese or two all toasted together to perfection.
If the odd chance occurs that we have bacon that's useable and tomatoes, I'll make myself a to die for sandwich. Here's a short description for you:

A tuna-melt, eh? Yummy. I could eat one of those right now, I'm absolutely ravenous! My extra terms and conditions would be that you leave out the bacon and serve it with a cold beer.
This morning we had at least three flakes of snow fall past the window. Yes, it was that exciting. I opened the curtains early and was lying in bed waiting for this alleged winter weather, but apart from a quite dramatic-looking dark tree outlined against a white sky (which made me think about blood vessels) there was not much to see.
We've had some snow in my area but not as much as normal. I'm totally fine with that! It makes it less often that I have to clean my car off before work. I hate that!
So much for the plunging temperatures & huge snowdrifts we were forecast for up here. Not a flake. It's a little warmer in fact than it was days ago.
Anyone else watch "Cyberbully" with GoT's Maisie Williams? Brilliant and horrifying all at once, with enough twists to satisfy a Hitchcock fan.
Not a flake, eh? They are making it sound practically apocalyptic if you watch the news.
I am quite tempted to make a canvas tent to put over Paul's car so he can avoid de-icing it.
I didn't see Cyberbully. If it was horrifying then it's probably good that I didn't, seeing as it would possibly have given me nightmares.
Last night before bed I watched 'Edward Scissorhands', which I haven't seen since it was first out. It was quite amusing to see it again. Featuring the most tenacious Avon Lady in the world!
School started for me today! I'm so excited I have something to do besides work and sleep!
Enthusiasm for returning to school in Paul evaporates in 3... 2... 1...
Everywhere's a skating rink & the trains are running when they please. I can't wait to get my haircut, but with it being so cold it would be counter productive, & will have to keep it for now.
Anyone heard Bjork's latest album yet? After the last two I'm afraid to touch anything of hers ever again. It's getting rave reviews but she seems to be one of those who gets those no matter what she does - but skeptical.
I heard about her releasing it because it was getting leaked but I have not heard it yet. I'm not a big fan though. I listened to her last album and it just seemed to go all over the place and I didn't like it.
Yeah, I'd give Paul a week before he starts missing the holidays.
I wonder how big Minty's hair is going to get before he cuts it? Shall we just buy him a hat!
I haven't bought Bjork's new one yet, although I was planning to. I might listen to it on someone's Spotify first, to see if I like it. I usually have to listen to albums a few times before I can judge. At least these days with digital music it is very easy to skip tracks on an album that you don't like. Not like the days of cassettes where you had to hold down FF and guess how long to leave it or risk overshooting!
Went out last night to the Playhouse at the Globe to
The Changeling. I truly am addicted to that place. Jacobean tragedy by candlelight seems to be my obsession. The main actress (Hattie Morahan) also played Nora in that version of Ibsen's "A Doll's House" that I saw a few years back. She seems perfectly cast in roles of that sort. Nothing quite like a bit of murder, lust and bloodshed on a Friday night is there? Especially if you also get to wear costumes.
