Please deal with the spammers - wangthespitoon - 25-06-2010 10:47 AM

This is no longer funny.

Amongst other spammers wrecking the board, there's one spambot called Clobbydeeld who is doing it on Majick's own Dragons thread.

No wonder there's problems here when the spam idiots can see they can spam even in the thread of someone supposed to be monitoring the forums to stop them and getting away with it! {cursing} {cursing} {cursing} {cursing}

Wasn't Cassiebeth made a moderator to help deal with this? If she's no longer around, make someone else a mod that will.

Please guys, get on top of this, it's making the forums look like doo-dah.  Sad

Yes, Cassie was supposed to be a moderator but she's not available anymore. I have been seeing a lot of spammers lately and have been thinking the same thing. The best thing you can do is report what you see so that as soon as a mod has logged in they will see the problem and extinguish it. Please be patient with us, we've just been through a rough patch. Mind explaining to the rest of us then what this "rough patch" was? All I've saw is Russian spambots all over the place, and my guess is the usual people got fed up with a forum which no longer appears to be moderated and so left.

If Majick can't even be bothered to keep her own thread tidy (and she's been on long enough of late to do something) my guess is reporting it is a big waste of time.

Hi guys,

I was just browsing the forum as a guest and thought I'd come in and help a little, so I've deleted those spam posts. I haven't spoken to Matt since I left, so I'll have to catch up with him and see what the deal is.

I too just happened to log on quickly and take a closer look at everything on here and it appears as if everything is cleaned up. Thanks Mike!

Thanks, Mike (:

See Mike, I told you there was a reason I left you with your mod permissions!

Sorry guys, I've been sunning it up on holiday for the past week so I've not had a chance to keep an eye on the spam. I'll have to spend some time trying to make the registrations process more secure.

Again, sorry about that. {blush}

I hate those spammers. I reported a new one a minute ago. "no deposit casino coupon codes"  {cursing} Do they really think anyone is going to buy something when what they actually do is making everone angry?  {blink}

Took care of it Cororon. Thank you!
