Re: A New and interesting color...
If you type 'realise' in word or something, left click and say 'Ignore', and then left click and choose "Look Up in Dictionary' or something like that, then it'll tell you it's just the "UK version."

Re: A New and interesting color...
Well, don't Americans spell "Night", like "Nite"?
Also "Jail", like "Gail", or something like that? |

Re: A New and interesting color...
Nope. That's actually right. Night and Jail.

Re: A New and interesting color...
"Nite" is used by chat-speakers, not Americans. And "gail"...I've never heard of that one...

Re: A New and interesting color...
I always assumed the changes resulted as a way of imprinting the American personality on the English language.
I am English born & live in Australia, we spell the English way. But boy do the Aussies have a knack of making up words, that end up being part of the language. "Tucker" for example is food. "avagoodweekend" you might be able to guess. |

I think you're pretty correct with that statement. EDIT: Carrying on with the whole colour suggestion, can we have colour names? I tried to make my name coulourful (it was a lame attempt, but I was bored and thought I'd give it a go) and it didn't work. Also, this doesn't really hve anything to do with what we've been discussing, but can we have more forum layouts? I like this one and it's colour scheme (bring on the green!) but I just think there should be more options and colours because sometimes the same layout day after day can be just a smidge annoying and a little tedious. Thank you! |

Re: A New and interesting color...
Seriously, I love our randomness. We went from colours on the site to changes in the English language according to countries. But thanks for getting us back on track, Cassie.
And I definitely agree with the layout suggestion. I like variety, and I usually change my computer settings - desktop, screensaver, colour scheme - quite often. So to come to this site every day and see the same-old colours...oy. Anyhoo, as for the colours...colour names? You mean...well, I actually don't know what you mean. Like, username? Sorry - 8:24 in the morning on a Sunday...I'm a bit slow. [center]

It's...the doughnut manatee. XD |

Re: A New and interesting color...
Hehe, I know exactly what you mean about our randomness, Bambi. Only we could do that. :
And yes, I did indeed mean colour usernames. I think lots of new colourful and interesting layouts mixed with this would make the forum more lively and full of colour. There's tons of possibilities for interesting layouts, but as we're pretty early in the game at the present time, I'd be happy with recolours of this theme at the moment. |
