I had made a topic earlier about some ideas I had for the Sims 3 (topic can be found here:http://www.sims3.com/the_sims_3/sim_3_ideas-t795.0.html)

Obviously with a project so large as The Sims 3, the likelihood of any of those ideas seriously getting implemented are slim to none. So instead I'm taking the more entertaining approach, which is to -- with minimal regard to some of the things already well established by Maxis -- illustrate my very own version of the Sims 3 and subsequent expansion packs.

    The Sims 3 --
    • Sims Age Seamlessly -- The aging process is now replaced with a seamless system established by genetics.
    • YOU Make the Town -- Alter the geography of the town before you lay a single stone. Lay out the roads, the trees, the rivers. Zones also are more flexible and can be cast into interesting shapes to maximize land use. Have houses behind houses!
    • Hair Grows!-- Your Sims hair and beards will ultimately grow like a Chia Pet if left unattended to. Therefore, it's important that your Sims visit a barber regularly to get a haircut, and it's a good idea to shave and exercise proper grooming as well.
    • More Customization Features than Ever!-- Let your Sims be heard! Establish the tone of your Sims voices, make their voices commandeering and inspiration or whiny and irritating. Adjust heigh so their either tall or short, and so on. Go and give your Sims greater identity!
    • More In Depth Personalities-- Same as the one already established by the ACTUAL game.
    • Skills are totally brand new!-- Instead of the same old skills system of games past, it is now replaced with more in depth memory system consisting of six groups: Reading, Verbal, Fitness, Memorization, Expression, and Basic.
    • New Bodybuilding System-- Fitness is no longer black or white; fit or fat. The body is broken up into different categories that have their own fitness levels allowing further customization.
    • Jobs are flexible and malleable!-- Careers are no longer generic, rigid, and system run; YOU create the job institutions; YOU affect the promotions; YOU determine the businesses; YOU turn your community into a great social ecology.
    • Your Town has Moods Too!-- Not only is the town seamlessly linked, but the overall success of the town determines the mood and levels of crime within the community. Unlock special gifts such as town statues, monuments, and more! Watch as your town either gets gentrified or becomes a true slum!
    • Send your Sims to School and College!-- Be able to determine your child's education and ensure their success in life and thus the success of the town, follow them to school and more!
    • Needs are more in depth-- Sims now feel thirst, have to do both number two AND number one, and have an awkward sense of libido. Sims also express specific interest in a means to appease the need: Sims based on habits, personality and maybe even genetics will either go into the frig for some veggies or some cookies. Read a book or watch TV or go on a run. Drink some water or some chocolate milk. And so on.
    • Sims Have Long Distance Relationships -- It doesn't matter which town your Sim is in anymore, all Sims in the entirety of the game can interact and live with one another (although Sims won't just right away start going between towns, it's more along the lines of a Sim living in Town A moves to Town B and they can still keep in touch)
    • A More Sim Driven Society-- Build hospitals, vaults, grocery stores. Schools, Fire and Police Stations. Car Dealers, Car Manufacturers, and Car Repair Shops. Restaurants, Night Clubs, Municipal Shops, and much, much more! Very few townies, little to no NPCs, primarily all Sim driven. (Or perhaps the ability to activate/deactivate NPCs and/or Townies)
    • Weather, Seasons, Cars, Universities, and the ability to make shops is all built into the game and elaborated upon.
    • Unique Lot Opportunities -- Make high rises and apartments too! Or shops downstairs with living quarters upstairs, or entire commercial complexes and malls!
    • Cheating is harder -- In order to be able to enter cheats, players must enter their CD Key when they press Shift + Ctrl + Alt + C. Furthermore, cheats are longer in length and designed to be as non catchy as possible so you can't develop a mnemonic to memorize them. Players can also designate Cheat Enabled/Disabled Zones which cannot be changed once the town is made.
    • With the breakup of towns, rather than have it be regular town, shopping town, etc. The Sims 3 has a new system. When you first create a town, you chose the name and you enable whether or not the town has the ability to cheat (upon further review, this is the only anti-cheating measure I feel should be applied.) Once created, you have your regular default village and design it as you like. From there, should that town run out of room (or for the sake of organization) you can go and establish a new district at any given time, it must be placed in relation to the initial district and all the roads, geography, etc, have to link up (there's a reconcile edges button to meet this end, like in SimCity 4). Districts can be likened to zones in a MMORPG game, they aren't finite ends, they are just regions attached to the primary one and one can switch between two zones freely at anytime, with a slight (as opposed to a substantial) loading time attached.

The Sims 3 -- Challengers EP
    • Sims can now immerse themselves into the world of Athletics, taking lead in: Running, Basketball, Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, and Tennis
    • More Fun Things to Build!-- Build basketball courts, tennis rinks, skate parks, track and football fields, whole stadiums!
    • More Fun Things to Do!-- Go on long runs, camp, bungy-jump, climb, and more.
    • Join Teams-- Face in competitions with friends, the entire town, against other neighborhoods, against world champions! Sims may compete at the following levels: Regional (meaning against teams within districts of the town), and National (Sims that are from other towns entirely, such as a Pleasantville vs. Strangetown competition). The ability to compete at an International level is unlocked in the Sims 3: Internationale.

Sims 3:-- The Great Debaters EP
    • Become Mayor! -- Build a voting stating and have your Sims run or vote for a mayor! Have engaging and fiery political debates and pivotal elections!
    • Your Sims have Political Views -- Some Sims like it hot, some Sims like it Cold, and neither side is willing to back down in saying their preference is better! Become politically immersed and give your Sims education and verbal skills a sugar rush!
    • Sims can now join debate clubs in High School and College.

    Sims 3:-- Underground EP
    • Ability to rise up through the criminal ranks. Perform tasks, both immediate and long term, as well as building influence in all the right (in this case they're really the wrong) places. There is no salary attached, all money is earned through tasks.
    • Sims have moral judgment, and from that determine what is right from what is wrong.
    • Sims can attain Enlightenment, by a randomly selected, inalterable, means.
    • How Influential -- Bargain, make friends and deals to exert influence over the town and convince people to be at your back and do your will, for good or evil.  :o

The Sims 3 -- International EP
    • Explore the World -- Now extend beyond being merely a tourist and become a Simizen of a far off land!
    • Go On Vacation -- Or be the usual schlep tourist and laugh at people's odd customs.
    • Bilingual Much? -- Teach your Sims multiple languages! Watch them baffle their fellow simpleton Sims as they talk to them in Greek, Sacred Llama Speech, Gobbledygook, Balderdash, English, and more!
    • Study Abroad -- Send your Sims to study in far off countries to achieve an education unique and unattainable in their homeland!
    • Countries now exist within the Sims, they are a step above Towns. Your default towns belong to SimNation. The countries of Prevervania (Preved speaking), Goblabwei (Gobbledygook speaking), Balderland (Balderdash speaking), and Grekistan (Greek speaking) are set, unable to be deleted, and come with their own unique items and culture that cannot be replicated in other places, items may be brought over, but that's all that can be done. For example: Prevervania is Thai themed, as such they will have access to architectural tools unaccessible to people from SimNation, as well as furniture, etc. Goblabwei is Moroccan Themed, Balderland is Swiss Themed, and Grekistan is Mediterranean Themed; the same rules apply to all of them as well.
    • Preved is classified as a garbled mix of Russian and Chinese. Gobbledygook is a mix of Xhosa (language with clicking sounds) and French. Balderdash is Dutch, Turkish, and Spanish. Grekistan is Ancient Greek and Latin blurred together with no attention to syntax. There is also a fifth language of Llama, which is just random mixes of human-mocked llama sounds and English with no attention to syntax.
    • The ability for athletes to function at the World Level becomes available.

The Sims 3 -- Powergrid EP
    • All the More to Construct! -- Build massive observatories, gigantic military complexes, secret bases, and more!
    • More Cool Opportunities -- Become part of a Laboratory and help find medical breakthroughs. Join the military at a Recruiting Station, and rise through the ranks using your influence to turn you into the general of the armed forces of all SimNation!
    • Nuclear Disasters, Medical Miracles, and Space Travel -- Use the power of science for good or evil, improve the livelihood of your Sims by researching new medicines (with a means similar to Spore with creatures, except here the "genes" result in a specific unique resultant as opposed to a creature), unique energy solutions, create clones, robots. Even travel to the depths of space itself, make peaceful contact with alien species even! Either use your knowledge for the greater good or the sake of evil: make clone soldiers, mind control devices to influence the entire town unfalteringly, killer war robots, contact aliens to order an attack on a town, cause blackouts, viruses (same system as with new medicines), nuclear armaments, and more!

The Sims 3 -- Grassroots EP
    • Run your own farm! -- Buy chickens, cows, llamas, along with acres and acres of land and arable plant life!
    • Non-farmer Sims can get pets too! -- Own a gerbil, a bird, a cat, a dog, and more!
    • Breed your livestock and plants! -- Tinker with the genetic genome of your plants and farm animals to create some truly beneficial (or hideous) results! Cowchickpig anyone?
    • Sims can make railways to link the districts and foreign towns.

The Sims 3 -- Kapow! EP
    • Sims Can Become Superheros! -- Have a horrific enough accident and be endowed with powers beyond the comprehension of common Sims.
    • Become A Comic Book Writer! -- Have a computer? Start pumping those comics out and making some money!
    • Use your powers for Good or Evil -- Use your powers to benefit the population and fight the forces of evil, or become the force of evil itself and aid in the decay of the town!
    • Be Enlightened -- Sims now have built into their persona the aspect of what is right and what is wrong. These morals will prevent a Sim for fulfilling needs in a certain way if they go against said morals. A Sims views may change through experiences. Sims can also achieve Enlightenment by means that make it unique to that lone Sim, it is almost entirely unaffected by morals, and the player is totally unaware of what it is (unless of course they cheat) >Sad

The Sims 3 -- Hedonism EP
    • Let the Arts flourish! -- Build theaters, radio stations and television studios! Create TV shows, radio broadcasts, and fantastic plays!
    • Support Live Theater! -- Become an actor, a screenplay, cameraman, musician, rock star, radio or talk show host, a director, and more! Host film festivals and more!
    • Go On Tour! -- Make a rock band, or theater group, and go from neighborhood to neighborhood entertaining the masses and reeling in the simoleons! Set up concerts in School, High School, College, and/or the Entire Town!
    • H&M Elements -- Building off the H&M Stuff EP, this basically embellishes the ability of Sims being able to become models, designers, and make clothing.
    • Go whip something up! -- Your Sims can enter cooking competitions and become a celebrity chef.

    Sims 3:-- Out to Sea
[li]Some Aqua Vitae Fun!-- Sims can swim at the beaches, go sailing, build marinas, build ships (which you design!), and even go on cruises.
    • Commercial Fishing becomes a viable (and possibly dangerous out on the high seas!) career
    • Sims can discover their own private islands removed from the mainland and establish total control.
    • Athletes can now engage in Swimming, Surfing, and Rowing starting from High School.

    Sims 3:-- Urban Infrastructure
    • New Expansion Altogether -- Sims can link together districts with highways, subways, elevated railways, public transportation, and even airports! Sims can even fly their own airplanes!
    • Build High-rise apartments and Office Buildings.
    • Keep the city green by keeping air pollution in check with parks, trees, and nature, or let the smog thicken the air and watch as your Sims' healths waver.

There also some other more underdeveloped EP ideas going around, but I don't have them all that formulated. Basically I view the Sims 3 as more open ended than the past games, in that there is no Sims 4 or anything, everything is added onto the current game. If there is a new personality aspect that comes up... lets say, the personality system is overhauled yet again, or there is a graphics overhaul, then that would be added into the next expansion and means would be added to make it a comfortable fit without causing too much hysteria.
your making your own version of sims 3?
WOW
That was by far the best thing I've ever read about TS3.
I'm seriously wondering why you aren't working for EA yet.
