I tried both views, but either I fall in first person or I fall in third person, either way, I fall, lol Biggrin

Thanks for the soul gem info, though, you are like a wiki! I will pass that on to my friend. We were thinking that maybe just buying them was the way forward.
If you are starting a new game and want to get a wee boost quickly to your status without cheating, or would simply like some extra goodies, there's a wonderful wee "easter egg" I have found by accident over at Dawnstar.

Go to the Iron-Breaker Mine entrance (the mine on the South East end of the town next to the Jarl's hall and the local inn). Look for the following place I've circled on the screenshot above.

Once you are over at the place circled, carefully look down between the rock and the rockface as shown above, and it will say there is a chest to open.

The chest contains a HUGE pile of goodies worth about 13000 in total & weighing 449. Some of the items are useless, but most of it is very valuable, such as enchanted weapons & clothes, filled soul gems, spell books, gems, potions, etc. Yahoo

I have no idea whether this is a one off treat or whether the items respawn, but it will be interesting to find out!

Crumbs! That sounds great. I have copied out your directions and we will search for this amazing heap of loot at the weekend. Thanks Minty Clapping

Edit: We have found the chest! Ah, so many goodies.
RIP Lydia. She died in battle against Falmer. The Falmer hit her with a sword and she went flying off a ledge. Sad
Poor Lydia died for a good cause, to obtain an Elder Scroll to defeat Alduin.

Edit: YESS!!! I finally defeated Alduin in Alduin's Bane! All I needed was the dragon bane sword, found in the sky haven temple after completing Alduin's wall.
Noooo! Poor Lydia!
Well at the end of the day I have finished the main quest, I found a poor dog with a sad story, I got Lydia killed and right now i'm heading over to the college of Winterhold.
You've found Barnabas. Oh dear! Biggrin Next time Ollie posts, expect a lot of naughty words! Bwahaharoll

Poor Lydia. I never take followers where I can avoid it. They spend so much time triggering traps they're more trouble than they're worth, plus I end up babysitting them, which sorta defeats the object of them I suppose.

College of Winterhold is great fun & a good change of pace. Also loadsa soul gems to buy.

If any of you fancy adding some good additional homes to the game, either for free or ones you need to buy from another character, try this website http://skyrimrealestate.com as they're pretty good.

I'm afraid he isn't Barnabus, but instead he is Meeko, who's Nord master died peacefully in his sleep.

On the 4th of Frostfall at 7:30 am the Nord Stormcloaks took over Solitude and successfully won the war. This day will be remembered in Skyrims history.
Congratulations, Ollie. This is a poignant moment.
