So my witch casted Fire Blast on my home lot and apparently it hit a newspaper and it got burnt.
As usual, we get the "A fire has started on your lot" notification and half of the city freaking out over a bonfire sized fire.

The number of people freaking out in front of my Sim's home.

I called the fire departement but they took too long, I had to command my Daredevil sim (he'll be a fire fighter) to extinguish it with a fire extinguisher.
Guess what I got.

I noticed the +$300,000 on my funds. I spent 2 minutes freaking out over the unexpected fortune.
Now my Sims family have $304,088 on their Household Funds. Sounds great.
One minute we were struggling to buy an expensive bed, the next minute we could afford a new house. Fryingpan
Wow that's not a bad amount of insurance for a burnt newspaper!
I know right!

Well I just tried burning the ground and extinguish it but I only get $109 from the insurance company D;
It's occurred to me that I never get insurance money from fires on my sims' lots. I've had money after a burglary, to replace stolen goods, but not after a fire. Maybe that's a new thing and I should burn some stuff up to raise cash.
I think that's be a bad idea, mostly because the money insurance compensate you won't be enough to replace your loss.
From my observation, they usually only give you 25-50% of what you lost. But I can't confirm that yet since I rarely get fire thanks to my Natural Cook sim.

I once had half of my kitchen burned (protip: don't force a tired sim with low mood and low cooking skill cook) and all I got is $1,560.
My loss is over $5,000. Fryingpan

I just tried burning another newspaper and I only get $169..

Still a good amount for a newspaper but not really worth the time D;
Ah well, the $300,000 from Newspaper A should keep you going for a while lol!
Yeah, it's been helping me a lot!

...Too much actually, I didn't really like it. It almost felt like using a cheat xD
