the Bold bit is a link to the excact same page. Why?
The news rotates around, so you may be on a forum post when you read it, so if you click that link, it will take you back to the index.
But I can't answer the question as to why the link is in that, maybe it's just for people to click if they get lost.
Lol, But you could simply click the more obvious home link in the bar below it.

Well not all people are experts at forums like some people
but isn't the HOME button much more obvious and inviting?
