I have a HUGE problem. One day i decided i was going to play sims 2. I saw the little intro video and it was working fine. But then when it gets to the loading screen b4 the main menu it crashes! It loads fine at first. But when it gets about 1/4 through the loading bar, when it says "decloryphylizing leaves" the music glitches, then plays normal, but the game freezes. When i do ctrl+alt+del to see if its responding, or minimize the game, a window pops up saying "Application crashed. This application will now terminate" and my game closes! >:-( If it doesnt freeze at 1/4 it freezes at 3/4 through when it says "Calculatung snowball trajectories."
Pleeeez Help me!!! Post any ideas to make it work!!!!!!
I think that perhaps your system can't handle the game.
Did you just install this game or a new program on your computer?
Try
http://thesims2.ea.com/update/index.php and download the latest patch for your game.
If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall the game.
Let us know how it goes.
No it couldnt be that, it was working fine a few days ago. But today i decided to play it again and it decided not to work for some reason. I did get something off of sims2.com the required university and i dont have it. But i thought all that would hapen is i wouldnt b able to use that lot, or maybe some things would b missing from it. Could it b that thats not letting me play?
I don't think that it would not let you play for that reason. Try taking that download out and see if it works.
I checked to c if i have downloaded the newest patch b4 and i have!!! And its still not working? Pleez, do u have any other ideas???? :'(

O MY GOSH!!!!! ITS WORKING!!!! thank u som much 4 trying to help, but i went to sims2 technical help, and it said to go to properties and do a space and write -nosound. AND IT WORKED. except now it has no sound. I need to figure that out next. How to fix it. BUT THANX FOR HELPING!!!!!! {woot}
Ok, so apparantly there's a problem with my video card. Now i just have to find how to fix it.
