I know it's kind of sad, but I felt it kind of necessary and respectul to my own country, so I just wanted to dedicate a thread to all those who lost their lives and people who lost family members/friends in the 7/7 terrorist attack on London on this day three years ago.

The 7th of July 2005 London bombings (also called the 7/7 bombings) were a series of coordinated bomb blasts, planned by Islamist extremists motivated by the 2003 invasion of Iraq, which hit London's public transport system during the morning rush hour. At 8:50 a.m., three bombs exploded within fifty seconds of each other on three London Underground trains. A fourth bomb exploded on a bus nearly an hour later at 9:47 a.m. in Tavistock Square. The bombings killed 52 commuters and the four suicide bombers, injured 700, and caused disruption of the city's transport system (severely for the first day) and the country's mobile telecommunications infrastructure. The series of suicide-bomb explosions constituted the largest and deadliest terrorist attack on London in its history.

It isn't my intention to upset anyone or anything, and I apologise if it does, but we had a minute's silence in schoool today and I felt it was important to let people know about this in case they forgot and they could pay their respects.

Thanks, guys. Smile
Yesh, this was a terrible day.
If i was in school we'd have a minutes silence too.
Thankyou for reminding me,
Bless all those people who lost their lives, or lost their families.

No problem. Wink It just shows what this world has become... it kind of makes me believe the '21st December, 2012 - Doomsday Conspiracy', if you know what I mean... that all these things (terrorist attacks, tsunamis, freatquent earthquakes, famine etc etc) are signs that the world will indeed end on that day if we don't sort our ideas out. But hey, I'm optimistic so I probably sound stupid right now.

Thanks for you sympathies, by the way. I remember being very scared that day because my Uncle was in that part of London at the time and he saw everything, but fortunately was not injured.
ive never heard that before that is very sad  Sad
It was a very sad day for the UK. The creepy thing is, it happened 911 days after the 9/11 terrorist on America. There are so many weird things tied to 9/11, I was really creeped when I learned them all (I needed to learn more about if for class and while doing so I learned some very odd facts). The weirdist is the wingdings thing. Do you guys know that one?

Lizzy

I know it but forget it.

That is scary though!!!

I know somebody who was late but just missed the train that the bomb went off in.
It's amazing how lucky and unlucky you can get. You have to type Q33 NY (the first flight to hit the twin towers) in capitals and change the font to wingdings. But anyhoo, this was just for giving our sympathies and sparing a thought for all those who lost someone or died on this day three years ago, so I'd rather it not get off topic (not your fault, I started it) as it's kind of a sesnitive thread for me.
