Alright...before I go on. I want to say im not a contraversial person that find stuff like this to talk about as a fun activity, but I have to get this out. So to whoever reading this feel free to give me some feedback. I don't have all the ep, so I could be off by a lot

Ok my ethnic background is black or in other words african american. And i have notice the lack of the black feel in the game. To explain more....prove me wrong(to whoever reading).....I have notice that there are only rock bands as the only kind of stage music that a sim can play. How fair is that. I think it looks good, but if this game is universal what about other types. There is R&B soul singing..hip hop...Im not a fan of rap, but ill like to see that in the game.....and country...im not a fan of that either..but it would be great to see. And so forth and so on. And the same with dances...everything is the same...where is the beat the rythme. where is the options to choose the type..The sims are going to have more individual personality right? Do the ppl that are involve in this game have any close black friends or any other  friends from different backgrounds. *sigh*  This game isnt about race for sure...but when i make my guy friend who likes baggy attire and hip clothes....I cant make him. When i want to make my friend with a nice r&b full of soul singing....I cant make her. And i could go on and on...even about hair.....there are only a few..when their are many nice african hairstyles.

Another thing i've notice is...how there is always one token chocolate person in a pic...that just look like somthing. And i did read that there are slider that can change the shades in the game. Why couldnt they make a few of different shades.

I'm planning on e-mailing maxis soon on their official site about adding variety...but im not even sure, if they will read it.

Feel free to give me feedback anyone. I'm open.

Hey Tangy_Tangerine-

I don't think EA is trying to leave other backgrounds out, it just happens. I doubt they are trying to be racist. As for the shades, there are different shades in both TS2 and TS3. TS3 will be more developed with shades and skin tones though. Please, look at some of the pictures from EA. In no way are they being racist or leaving backgrounds out. If anything, EA has become more developed and including in TS3.

Also, if you are looking for clothes/hairstyles, you can download plenty of them on the web.

i agree about the ethnicity thing. im hispanic, and i see absolutely NO hispanics in the game. sims is all black and white... like an old movie... its not easy to make sims that arent white/caucasian. {no} all my asian/hispanic/africanamerican/etc. sims turn out weird-looking

Your right it just happens. I figured that since the game is made by a certain group..the theme is usually going towards that certain group more.  I was just hoping to see..more universal changes this time around, but so far i haven't. I'll wait and see.

yes I could download plenty, but not any ethnic/hairstyles and clothes. If you know of any sites..let me know. I would love a site that has styles for all types of people too.

Yeah....I know lol. So far I have read that the designers are working on better asian and african models..so far i Havent heard about hispanics. Maybe with the more details better hispanic will be created from that too.

Yeah...I think i've only seen one person in my life time with that similiar hairstyle.

youre welcome for commenting even if we get nice asians and afrianamericans in the game, i will still be a bit upset that theres no nice hispanics... *sigh*

I also want to make sure that you know I am not being racist, I was just trying to show why it happens.

As for some sites, I will have to get back to you on those. I know MTS2 has some stuff. TSR probably has some things as well. Check big sites like those, but there are also some smaller sites that have much more in the way of specific ethnics.

I find the hairstyles upsetting too! Their lack in thicker and curlier and more african-american hair really bugs me... most of the stuff is straight hair, and its annoying! THe textures are quite limited... some people have thinner/thicker/wavier hair than others. There are some really good MTS2 creators that focus on urban style clothing. I mean, lets be honest. Half the clothes in the BG are things that no sane person would wear in public. The other half you would really find on the streets much...
