Well, there's been some buzz about The Sims: The Movie, which is said to be released in 2009, will you go see the film?
No.

BTW- This should probably be in The Sims 1 section.

I didn't really know which section this topic should be in because there is no specific generation the movie has been set in yet (Sim Generation) for all we know it could be based on a Sims 3 story, a Sims 2 story or a story based on the original Sims, it could also possibly be based on all three, in which case this topic could be placed in any of the three, therefore I placed in a random section. If they ever make a Sims Movie Board, then this would be prime material.
im might see it for a laugh
Good point Scott.
of course i will! even if critics hate it and say its suckish or whatever, ILL SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!
Agreed with Chanel. Even if it's cruddy, i'll still go and check it out. Maybe not at the movies, or on Youtube, once someone uploads it Big Grin

Not interested.
Like Rena said,I'll probably watch it when someone uploads.
If I can be arsed.
I probably will not go and see this movie.

Why?

Because - It states that the 'sims' will be played by real people - To be honest I think this totally just puts the 'sim' effect out the door. It's just gonna be like any other movie now, isn't it? If it was actual simulation footage of a sim game...then it might be worth it, but I couldn't see them dragging footage of sims on for about 90 mins or however long the movie will last. Although with the help of the game team and stuff, they could probably get some awesome custom animations, objects etc... just for the movie, so it could make it more...realistic & if the actors are going to be speaking in English & not Simlish...then there is another reason why it shouldn't be called The Sims Movie. Anyway back to my original point - if it's played by real people - what's the point in calling it The Sims Movie? It'll just be like any other movie. If I remember correctly - at least in Space Jam [i think] Bugs Bunny and everything were animated...so it would be awesome if it was something like that. Then again we don't know the plot of the movie - do we? [Correct me if I'm wrong], So maybe it will feature something like Space Jam...where there is a Simulated Sim wandering around in the movie...and it's like a figure of the main characters imagination or something, I have no idea.

Oh also - I'll just leave this thread in this section for the time being.

Technically it doesn't fit into any Sims category, Sims 1, 2 or 3, so I guess you may as well place it in any of the sections, and seeing as this is the most read section it was probably best to put it here. Smile

Anyway, moving on, like Mike said it probably will not even seem like a Sims movie. I mean, no Simlish (unless they did subtitles but that's a bit... sad, but I probably wouldn't mind to be honest, hehe - brings the Simmy feeling to the game after all), no actual Sim footage (although my guess is that it will be mostly actors in the normal world but a few parts where it's animation. I can imagine the film starting with a boy or girl who puts the game in his or her computer and it slowly zooms into the game as if we're watching what he's controlling), so why does it really earn the title of Sim Movie? 'Cause it sells, that's why. And I'm going to see it even if it looks like the cruddiest movie ever.
