Honestly, friends, when I look at the CAS screens of the new Sims, I really can't understand the criticism of some people. Don't they look beautiful to you? I love their look. It's more realistic than this sober, edgy Sims 2 look. I mean Sims 2 would do but this is so much more advanced, especially because you can see in the screenshots that Sims 3 is so very rich in detail and the design, houses, plants, pavements ecetera blows me away. Brilliant!  {clap}

Maybe I have a keener eye for detail than a different taste but basically I feel Sims 3 is going to set very high asthetic and artistic standards in the game industry. I don't always agree with EA Games policies but those MAXI guy are very skilled, hard working people and I think some genuine, old-fashioned praise from a fan of the first hour is long overdue.

Maxi people you are doing a great job here. Please keep the good work up and don't forget to communicate with us in your no-doubt rare breaks.

i love how TS3 looks in the pictures
but i am not 100 precent sure that this is how they'll look when the game comes out
with TS2 the game didn't end up beung like in the promotions so until i play the game on my own computer i can't really tell
however TS2 mainly changed the game with the aging which was the main focus transforming TS1 into TS2
so i do think that the seamless Nhood and everyone aging together would be done great since this is the main focus this time
but to me the sims do look very nice and even if they don't change that much i like the sims we have now
and even if it's similar graphics we still have alot more options on how to customise our sims

Well, in Sims 2 a lot depended on how well your graphic card performs. With enough RAM and a good graphic card you get pretty close to the quality of what was advertised in the previews. I've got a MacBook pro but play the PC version on my Windows partition and the quality is much improved from my old PC. I guess it'll be the same with Sims 3. If you want to go for a breathtaking graphical performance you're going to have to buy the right hardware. Laws of physics, you know. Software can do wonders but only if the hardware permits.
also keep in mind that the pictures are much much bigger than the sims will look in the game
i've read someone saying that s/he doesn't like the ears in TS3 that much
but when you'll play the game you won't notice the ears that much
during the game play you never get that close to your sims only when you're changing it's apperence
so the important thing about the sims is how customisable they will be

You're absolutely right. And I also agree that the graphics really don't matter that much because the gameplay itself has improved so much from Sims to Sims 2 and will improve even more from Sims 2 to Sims 3.
I mean, the basic ideas (seamless neighbourhood and all) are really what I've always wanted in Sims. I'm already completely content with things as they are now. As far as I'm concerned no further improvments are needed, but oh well, I also wouldn't mind if they go and top it with a few nice little additions. I'm sure there will be many pleasant surprises when the game comes out.

BTW (completely off topic now) I loved Ben Bells blog post on the new Sims 3 site. I love how is commuting by train. Trains are the future. I love trains, I don't even own a car any more. What the heck, old bucket of bolts, eating too much oil, oil causing too much war, I just threw it out this useless thing.  {clap}
