I am very very new to Sims, never played before. Is it normal for the Sims characters to speak in a foreign language? Am I supposed to understand them? Thanks for your help!!!
Yes it is! Sims speak Simlish!
It's pretty much gibberish.
âScott
Like Scott said, it's gibberish!
The Sims team does that so they don't have to come up with dialogue.

Yep what Brad and Scott said, it's similish. You can figure what their saying by their moves.
It's not an real language.
youll understand what the sims say after years of practice .... like me ...
susu
Elders speak little differently than the other sims. More like spanish or something like that. I know it isn't spanish, but it sounds like it. Sometimes teen and adult simlish sound like swedish or russian. Not real words of course.
Actually, the sims team has said that Simlish is a lot of various languages jumbled together. So, they are speaking actual languages ... just not actual words!
Oh, I didn't know that
Thats cool

Yup!
I think having a second life in Sims 2 has helped me feel better. To be able to do things I never could in real life. I sooo enjoy this game.
It's my self-sim and my sim-husband in the pic. Too sad I died before I knew there was an "elixir of life".
But I have great grandchildren now.
