I think everyone who said they could play the game with the release of the first system requirements are still okay.  They just did the SR for all computers into one and added more detail...no changes to the RAM.

Thanks Karma for you. So if you are using a laptop the game may go slower  {glare} I will get over it, I might install it on my desktop also just to see the speed diffrence.
I don't think that it would be slower.  I think that it would run the same speed on a desktop that had the same specs of your laptop.
What it means is that at least 75% of laptops have intergrated graphics so it will be slower because of the low processors so if u do have a laptop with ver good graphics ure fine but if it is one with UMA or GMA it will run slower than usual, but go to systemrequirements lab when they have The sims3 on it and see if your laptop will meet the recommended and the required
This will kind of explain integrated graphics, but for a better answer, search other articles on google.

Laptops really do not have as good processors and graphics cards as desktops at the same price.

Lol. No its not, my laptop is much faster than my desktop pc. they said the sims3 on laptop and Pc will be the same performance.
That really all depends on the power of the Laptop and the power of the Desktop! You can get some really powerful laptops these days. Although generally, if you spend the same money on a laptop and a desktop, the desktop would be more powerful as the parts are cheaper when compared to the laptop equivalent.
yea. my laptop and desktop Pc are the same system requirements but desktop has better screen and video card
