I just got The Sims 2 Double Deluxe and I'm having a problem creating a new family. I can create the sims but when I try to save the family the whole thing locks up. I'm running Vista SP1 and meet all the system requirements. Any ideas?
Do you have the latest patch?
I downloaded the one that they have on the website but it didn't seem to help. I'm not sure if it even took. I downloaded it then went to install the patch and it told me everything was up to date. I haven't tried reinstalling yet.

Not necessarily. There are other things that could be wrong too.

Freeze in games will be a install program if still freezing after reinstall video card issue
If she meets the requirements, it could be a lot of other things.
I'd recommend installing the latest drivers for her computer first.
Even if your computer meets the specs, it might not be able to run on the medium to high graphic settings it may have set. So in addition to updating your video card drivers, you should try removing all custom content that you might have in your downloads folder and try setting your graphic settings on low in the game.
