I've not sent my e-mail just yet, I'm about to do it now, but I just spent that last 15 mins compiling this letter to EA and I just thought I'd post it to give people encouragement to send e-mail to them too, and let them know how you feel about the situation. If you have sent an e-mail, please post it here if you want to, so we can read each other's responses to this.
It's really lame but I tried. I hope they actually reply.
"Hi.
I wasn't certain where to send this e-mail, so I apologise therefore for sending it to a list of different e-mail adresses brought to my attention.
I became aware today that 'The Sims 3' for PC is now due for release on June 2nd 2009. The purpose of this e-mail is simply to articulate how crestfallen and disgruntled I am concerning this news.
I understand that games have to be delayed sometimes; that's life. But, on such short notice? The game was originally just over 2 weeks away! I have to honestly say that I feel this was a low, unjustifiable action taken by EA and I, along with the greater majority of the Sims community, would have appreciated an advanced notice on this delay. I am trying to make it not appear as though I am pointing the finger at anybody, or venting, because I have other places to do that and this e-mail was not written for that function, rather just to express my concern of the issue.
Leaving an official announcement of a delay until two weeks before the initial release, and allowing rumous and gossip to kindle and brew around the community, I persnally felt, was ignorant.
The official site is barely ever updated. There are lists and menus, for example, where 'chats' should have taken place for the past few months, since August, and have been left untouched. Thursdays, or rather 'Sim days', are insignificant now as they are usually disregarded by EA.
The community and loyal fans of this infinite series can sometimes feel ignored and mistreated by EA. We don't expect to be spoonfed like babies, but a little more recognition from EA would be profoundly appreciated. (:
This is not to make you feel bad, or roll your eyes. I just hoped you might take note of it for future circumstances, though you probably recieve e-mails like this frequently.
As there are now another 4 months of anticipating left to go, I'm contemplating the idea that you'll update us more often, weekly if not daily. Just little somethings, just to keep the community going. I really hope you consider this. (:
On a positive note, I want to thank EA and everyone involved for creating and working on such a marvelous franchise. I'm only 15 now, but have been playing the series since I was 7 and never stopped. I appreciate all that you've done for the past few years and hope the franchise can continue for many years to come.
Thank you for reading this.
Yours sincerely,
Cassie M."
