I just listened to the main theme and they changed it! Well, not that much, but now you can her a Xylophone at the beginning and at the middle you can hear very clearly a choir singing the folliwing notes:

I love the theme. Very classy.
I can already imagine seeing Sunset Valley from above with the official theme song playing and thinking "farewell Sims 2! I've found a better world here. Sims 3!!! Here I come! I wished for this for too long!"

and the beginning of "Identity check" the beggining beginning sounds like "wake me up when september ends" from green day
I haven't listened to the whole thing because I can't really concentrate on the music. I think it's a reasonably dull soundtrack to purely listen to, but I DO think it compliments the game nicely and is well suited to being the accompanying music to the game, because you don't concentrate on it quite so much then. I am in love with the main theme though. Not sure how I feel about the random choir voices they appear to have added though. =\
