It seems like EA had an exclusive contract with Ford specifically.
In order to include these types of vehicles, they'd need to get permission from these specific dealers, and that can't always be guaranteed, so though it would be awesome to have more variety, there are legal matters I'm sure that EA would have to go through to get rights.

Doesn't matter. They still have to get the rights to use the names like that in their games. Otherwise they'd have serious copy right lawsuits on their hands.

it's just the law. like when you see a reality show, and their t-shirt is blurred out because it says "Pepsi" or something. you can't use the brand names without the company's permission. same with cars.

Oh yeah, doesn't that happen on American Idol? The coca-cola logo is blurred out from their mugs/cups/whatever.

well Ford seams to basically i think have a contract of advertisment with the sims 3 so mabey we should start thinking our favorite Ford cars such as mabey a family car would be a Ford Explorer
