Hi guys,
As you may know, there are lots of forums I visit regularly.
Well on one forum, I have myself founded as a good, interesting user, and I have a lot of friends there, and my opinions are appreciated.
However, there is one user who always goes onto serious topics I post in, quotes me and takes my quotes out of context to make me seem like a bratty troll. The reason he does this is because I'm 12 years old. He says everything I write is pretentious crap and that he hates me. The moderators won't respond to it, and when this user starts acting like that, other users join in. I've been told that I'm embarrassing myself and destroying my reputation.
Please, I don't want it to go on like that. I like that forum a lot, and one user just keeps on treating me like filth.
Can you help me?

just ignore him. ignore every single post he makes. he'll stop bullying u then.

Unfortunately, bringing in an outside party, especially from a forum that has had nothing to do with that one, will just make it worse.
If his founding reason that what you say isn't worth listening to is because you're 12, he's just going to use the fact you "ran to get help" against you. And make things so much worse not just for his fuel, but for others who tend to back him up.
The best advice I can give is to just ignore it. Let them behave like an ignorant buffoon. Don't take his hateful words to heart. He's probably just someone with the kind of personality that feeds of hurting the feelings of others, and when he can get an audience, it just makes it worse and gives him a complex that he's right. Even if he's not.
You need to be the bigger person in this kind of situation.
The fact that the Mods won't do anything is a little troublesome, though.
If you believe the people there really like you, and the Mods aren't being of any help, maybe you should try contacting them individually (if that forum has a PM system like we do) and asking these people why they are so nice to you until this guy comes along and takes your words out of context. Let them know, sure you might be 12, but even you have the right to have an opinion, and to share that opinion and don't feel it's fair or polite to have your words thrown back at you as such.
I don't know for sure if this will help, but at this time it really cannot hurt to give it a try. And if you've already tried these measures, let me know. *hug*

I've tried telling him that I'm allowed to have an opinion, but he tells me that I'm trying to appear intelligent and that I'm really totally immature.
It hurts me, I find it hard to ignore.
Yes, sounds to me like he just enjoys upsetting younger people.
I know it's hard to ignore, but it's probably the best thing to do. Since it's over the internet it's the worst he can do really. So by ignoring him, he'll get worse before he'll get over it. And move on to someone else. That's how people like him work. I've been bullied enough in my life to know that it's not until you stop reacting that people get bored, and move on to another target.
And, I wasn't saying to talk to him (which seems you have at least tried already :3) I meant to try and contact the others, the people who say they are your friends, then turn on you the moment he turns your words around.
you're old enough to have an opinion. people like that just have to be ignored for a bit to understand that their opinion doesn't matter to u at all. you're only 12 but trust me you'll meet plenty of people like this in yer life. the world is full of bullies...

Oh yes. We've all been there. But again, at least in your case it's just over the internet. The majority of my experiences have been in person, with actual physical violence. You'll be fine dear :3
