I am trying to build an indoor pool attached to my house. My house is built on a foundation and the pool apparently has to be built on the floor. I need to know how to make small stairs to fit in the pool room so my sims can come down off the houses foundation and into the pool room. Also, how do you erase or use only half or certain peices of a grid square? I am trying to build the pool off of a cornerered hallway and half of the grid square of the hallway is hanging off into the pool room.
To use a piece of a grid, making it a triangle, I believe you hold down the ALT key. If you read the tips while the game is loading, that is one of them. Although, I don't know if you can erase half of whatever with just the ALT key. You can also do diagonal foundations to help with the corner thing. To make the stairs fit, just grab any style and move it around until it snaps into the place that you want. Sometimes it just takes a while. But you got to make sure you have room for the stairs.

I hope this helps!
