Today is a day that will live forever in the memories of millions.

It was 8 years ago today, that thousands lost their lives; it was 8 years ago today, that people stood up and took control of their own lives and saved countless others; it was 8 years ago today, that the world was changed forever.

Let us not forget the brave men and women, and even animals, who risked and/or lost their lives to help others this day 8 years ago.  I personally did not know anyone who was lost in the tragic events that unfolded that day, but I do have friends who lost family and other loved ones.

If you can find the time, take a moment and give a moment of silence for those lost and those who served above and beyond the call of duty on this horrific day.

*lowers head respectfully*
That was beautiful Jen.

This didn't have much affect on me when it actually happened.  I was 5.  I didn't know.    But I now know it is a horrible tragedy.
That was such a great speech, Jen. It was such a horrible day for alot of people.
Living in the UK, our college didn't do a minutes silence.
But someone in class suggested it so we happily agreed to respect those who lost their lives in 9/11.
I can always remember in primary school at 9 years old being filed into the assembly hall and watching the reports - it was awful.
We didn't do it either. We thought we would have done, but the bell just rang like normal, soooo...:\

Anyways, look at this, thanks to IITechnomickyII

My dad was at work when it happened.

Someone passed him in the hall, told him it happened.  My dad laughed, thinking they were joking and kept going to his locker.  A little while later, someone else came in and said it had happened again, my dad said "Oh, come on." and laughed again, the guy stopped and told him it was on the TV in the lunch room.  So, being curious my dad went to the lunch room, and sure enough there it was.

My days and nights were backwards then, too.  So I actually was asleep most of the day.  Wasn't until my dad got home from work at 3:30 and woke me up when he turned on the TV (I slept in the living room because my bed was in storage, we were getting ready to move) and it was on almost every single channel.

I had a friend online who had actually sent me like 10 emails looking for me, because he knew I lived on the east coast, but didn't know exactly where and was freaking out about if I was okay x3  When I signed on AOL he IM'd me "JEN!???"  'o.o yes"  "OMG YOU'RE OKAY! *GLOMP*"

I was amused by this x3  But yeah, sad sad day indeed.
I honestly don't remember the day it happened, I don't think anyone told me. o.o
I was 3 but it is the day after me dads b'day i remember watching this thingy about it!
You remember what happened when you were only 3? o.o I wish I had that good a memory XD
I remember things from when I was 3 too.  But only small bits and pieces.  Like my grandfather being at our house with his dog, and the dog scaring me a LOT o.o;
