It keeps on saying that my game needs an update. So I say "Yes, Update" or whatever, and it says there is an error and it cannot update my game. So I go to do it manually, and it says my game is up to date!  And thoughts?

You have to manually download the the patches.

It should be there   Just download, and then open.  Tell me if that fixes your problem

I had the same problem.
If you have windows, go to Start.  Search for "regedit"    Open it.    Scroll down to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", then down to SOFTWARE, then to Sims3 .  Click SKU, and change the value to 2. That should do it.    If that doest work, change it to anything from 1-7.
