Grant Rodiek - Associate Producer of The Sims 3 - had a little chat with GameSpot about the upcoming Expansion Pack 'Ambitions'. Check it out;

dateline= Wrote:GS: Tell us about some of the other additions that the expansion will add. What new items, building options, and gameplay features will also be added?

GR: One of the features we're most proud of is adding the ability for players to add, remove, and modify lots in edit town. Create-a-World is still the most powerful tool available for players who want to create and modify worlds, but for players who just want some of the options, this is a great alternative. Players can also add neighborhood objects like signs, rocks, and other large structures.

The tattoo system is an incredibly powerful new creative tool for our players. Players can apply multiple tattoos in up to five layers, scale them, change the colors, and even modify opacity. Players can also upload and share these tattoos on the exchange, giving our community yet another creative outlet.

Build mode will see the addition of the ability to modify the pitch of individual roof sections, which is incredibly useful for aspiring architects. We're also adding a multistory column tool for added home variety.

Finally, we always try to add some fun new objects for sims to play with while not working or studying. Sims will love motorcycles, the trampoline, and more.

Thanks for posting!

These REALLY interested me;

Your town may fall victim to small fires, huge infernos, and even earthquakes.

OMG. <33

For example, if you need information, you can bribe a sim, convince them to give your sim the information, or even beat them up. You can break into homes for clues or other nefarious purposes, like stealing their items for "evidence."

This just sound hilarious. Smile

Architects will be hired by neighborhood sims to remodel their homes. For example, expecting parents may hire your sim to build a new baby room for them, or a sim who has just learned to paint may contract your sim to create an art studio.

Love this, too, gives a good realistic and neighbourhood feeling.
Ahhhh! I know right?! I loved the last one, it seems so amazing.

The breaking into homes thing sounds great, and getting information outta people...by beating them up...hmm very good Wink The private detective career seems to be my favourite at the moment. The firefighter one looks good...but not my cuppa tea. XD
I can't decide right now. Firefighter, detective and architect have caught my eye I suppose, after what I quoted above. =]
Oh my {woot} Im superexciting for this {clap}
Same. =P
Looking forward to some more info/vids/pics. And a release date. They say Summer, WA came out five months after TS3, but if it were five months again until Ambitions, it'd only be April, so that's a tad weird. I'm guessing it'll be June.

I can't remember where, but it was definitely today I read it, a website said 1st June, which is a Tuesday, so it'll be 4th June for us UK Simmers. That's probably just a guess at this moment in time though.
I think June's a good time, normally I'd break up from college on June 4th, but it looks like I'm quitting anyway, sooo... -_-

Looking forward to playing it this Summer though. Smile
I'm actually anticipating some more news though. First time I've really looked forward to something Sim-related since last June. Tongue
I would love to have it in April,but i definitely cant wait for a expansion like this Smile

But when i remember for how long we were waiting The Sims 3 {ohmy}
Way too long. It got extended by 4 months and it still came with enough bugs to equal the population of China.
