The Baby's Gender. - Majick - 23-02-2009 08:21 PM

Okay, so here's an idea.

I know that in TS3 the pregnancy is going to last longer.  If I recall, someone said 6 days, right?  Well ... what if on the 4th day of pregnancy, the Sim had a choice to pick up the phone, and "Call Doctor's Office".

From there you get a menu that would say "Gender of Baby" or "See the Doctor"  and the Doctor would pop up in the corner of the screen (like the weather man does, or other sims when they call you) saying "You're having a bouncing baby boy!"  or "You're having a graceful baby girl!"

And, if it's twins the Doctor could say something like "Here's a surprise! One's a boy, and one's a girl!"  or "Two bouncing boys are coming your way!"  and of course "two graceful girls are coming your way!"

As for the "See the Doctor" option, your sim would get in their car like when getting the car alarm installed, the Sim would then leave the lot for an hour or so then come back and there would be the same pop-up in the corner as previously mentioned.  Or, if no car, the Sim would just walk off the lot, then come back in an hour, like when they go jogging.

And since this would be an OPTION, Simmers can still chose if they want to know or not!  It's a bit of Realism mixed with Cartoony goodness of what The Sims is about :3

I actually like this idea, I hope EA involve this option in the near future if not already. It'd be useful to know what to expect  {yes}

I know.  I like to decorate my nurseries based on the gender of my baby.  I hate doing everything in Yellow, then changing it to blue or pink after I have the baby.  It also would help people to determine what name/s they'd like to use.

Nice idea. I was thinking of this as well. I also prefer to decorate the babies' rooms based on whether they're a boy or a girl. I hate having to pause the game right after my Sim has a baby to start on the baby's room.

I actually love this idea Majick! It's great! There are so many things that should be put in TS3 XD

Dunno.  I haven't actually submitted this idea, lol.  Although it would be neat if I did and they approved it, hahaha.  Wish I knew someone who had an in with the company, lol.
