no i mean that u can pick up to 4 eggs from the cave. but i do think that dragons that breed can produce up to 4 eggs.

Dragons can produce 0-4 eggs.
If you already have 4 Eggs and 4 hatchlings then you will only be able to keep one, and all the others are automatically abandoned - you have no say in this matter.
Also, Lilia; they have so many hatchlings and eggs because many of those are frozen, and therefor no longer count toward the 4egg/hatchling rule.
