It's completely random, you will most certainly get a girl sooner or later.
The same thing happened to my friend, she created herself and her boyfriend *figures, huh? lol* and she wanted a daughter so badly and she had about 10 children...every single one of them were boys. And whenever she'd run out room for more kids, she'd kill off a few of her kids *sobs very loudly* It was awful.............:'(

I actually remember reading somewhere a long time ago that there was a glitch regarding this.
