Our highschool had a wellness center. Similar to the nurses office, but it was designed specifically for students who had sexual problems (like pregnancies and needed tests and stuff like that). I remember I had to go there one time for cramps, to get somethng stronger than just tylenol, and the lady there asked me if I was pregnant ... I was like ... uhm ... I'm on my period ... I doubt it.

I usually keep a pad in my purse too. Me and my fiance have regular talks about my period, he's like "meh, it's part of life, nothing to freak out over."
