I always make my sims gorgeous....if they have an ugly kid I give it plastic surgery =( lol. If I get bored of them or decide I don't like them I make them look bad though. And I don't quite understand the first question. You can already make your sims however you want them and they inheirent their parents genetics....

I have a habbit of making two sisters, one the absolutely beautiful one, and one the unfortunate ugly one. But the beautiful one always has a ugly personaity, and the ugly one has the beautiful personality. I know it's cliche but that's just me. Other than that, I usually do families, and I always make them beautiful.
