I agree. I actually love the banishment of micromanagement, contrary to what I first thought about it.

im hoping they will add little days off from school besides snow days..
i thought ts2 was even supposed to have them..like their summer season having no school..but that didnt happen.

They should have months to go along with the seasons. Each month should last a sim week, that way kids could get roughly 3 weeks, or maybe just a week, off for summer break and maybe a day or two off, for spring, fall, and winter break.
This would also help with aging, so maybe the sims could have a real birthday each year, instead of their birthday coming up every so many days.

i think the birthdays should come up everything 50 days in sims or something i duno but everything frigging day....it is so annoying and pointless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah! and they should know that it's their birthday, so they can walk around in a good mood all day because their family and friends acknowledged the occasion or a bad mood if no one says anything about it.

yeah we shouldn have to invite everybody over..some people should just stop by with a gift knowing its their b-day or say happy birthday as mentioned..i think it would be neat.
