I read Hermonie was suppose to be really ugly in the books.

... well it's true.
Regarding Hermione, I think she was just average. Emma's always been too beautiful for the role of Hermione really. Jo once said she was meant to be a little plumper and less attractive, but never ugly.
I mean, Ron's appearance is described... not very wonderfully. I doubt he was meant to be as attractive as Rupert turned out, either. But I am NOT complaining. {whistle}
