You're right about the stereotyping thing. It's terrible.

And I eat just fine, and I'm still in tip-top shape. I eat what I want when I want. It's not so much about how much/what you eat. It's more about your metabolism and how much exercise you get.

Me, I hate hollywood.  I don't want them to go away, but they shouldn't get as much money and attention. If it wasn't for them, and musiciams (mainly in rap and R&B), teenagers wouldn't be growing so fast--having babies at young ages, doing it, and crime, gangbanging, and other stuff.  Where I live, it is really annoying.  Everyone, but me is into rap, and it is so thugged out.  I gotta move, seriously.

In general, they set bad examples for people and people follow them.

People didn't start having babies before marriage before actors did.  Every time one gets pregnant, it is so "cute" to the media, and everyone else does it.  Now no one gets married anymore.

Morals are wasting away because of them.

Sorry to bring this convo all the way back. But I just had too.

Yea...it is so not true that people didn't have babies before marriage before Hollywood. There have ALWAYS been affairs/love children/crazy drama between people.

Besides values are changing. They always do. A hundred years ago if you wore a tank top and shorts you would have been considered to be a HUGE TRAMP!

Also, even if there were less children had out of wedlock (to the eye), there were a lot of rushed marriages/early marriages. Back in the day, marriage was as an important a step as graduating highschool is today. Times have changed.

Re: hannah montana - yummybunny - 24-05-2008 10:09 PM

True, but having babies before marriage became very accepted when big people started doing it though.  It is just like clothing, hairstyles, music, and stuff.  Nothing really is okay or comes into style until they see someone famous do it.

When my mother was in high school in the 80s, she told me that a teacher who got pregnant out of wedlock would be talked about and stuff.  Today, since more and more people are doing it because it is considered okay in the media, and so is doing it (I don't wanna say the S word).  This is why so many people these days are doing things more.  Morals change according to what they see in the media.  They do not change all of a sudden.  Morals don't all of a sudden change from good to bad, there is an outside interference.  And for so many people to do things, the outside interference has to be big.

All of these things came in effect, or was okay when the media started showing it:  Doing it before marriage, being a thug, being a tramp (example--music videos.  Especially rap.  If it wasn't for rap being so nasty and stuff, teens wouldn't be doing so much stuff today, and the thug life probably wouldn't be as popular), and other stuff.

People do what they see on television.  This is why I wish that they can get some of this crap off television.  Kids are growing up too fast because of it.

I know this is kind of random, but what annoys me is when they but swearing/s3x/violence etc etc on the TV before nine o'clock. Countless times I've been sat with my little cousins with the telly on and something like the above comes up. I have to hide their eyes sometimes, and it's only like, 7pm. {glare}

Re: hannah montana - yummybunny - 25-05-2008 10:45 PM

Yeah, it's like you cannot watch nothing with the little kids or family anymore.

There are countless times when my mom is watching a movie on television that I have already saw, and I have to tell her that a s3x part is coming up, because my brother is also in the living room or passing through it.

Sorry about stereotyping but,I think that all american people dont care about health! all they care about is French fries cheesey pretsels and hogies (what ever that is) and the girls in america go to the (mall) and look for (cute guys) and the guys all like (soccer or baseball) and care about getting (dates) unlike the british who are not so sexist and guy can cook and girls can go motorbiking or play football or rugby and guys cane be very fashionable in the uk.

Re: hannah montana - yummybunny - 26-05-2008 08:47 PM

Some of us Americans do care about health, well, a lot of us do.  The problem is that a lot of us have busy days and stuff, that we do not hardly get enough time to care for ourselves.  We do have the question in our minds that you also asked.  We really care about our weight.  The ones that don't really have enough time for ourselves watch what we eat, or we may take the stairs.  I know a lot of people that work two or three jobs and they hardly have time off.

People outside of America do think that about us, because a lot of immigrants talk about it.  Then when they live here for a bit, they do say that it is harder to exercise and stuff in America, because they spend a lot of time working.  Which we do, we rarely have enough time for relaxation--well a lot of us don't.

I exercise whenever I can, especially since it's summer, but when school comes back in, I will have to wake up at six, go to school at eight till twelve, work till 6, then go to my night class, which ends at nine.

My point is that we do care about our weight, that's why there are so many diets here, that it's driving us crazy.

my summer holidays is in 5 weeks and the english are in 7,How long do you get for your summer holidays? the uk only gets 7 weeks!

Re: hannah montana - yummybunny - 27-05-2008 10:37 PM

If I am correct, about ten to eleven weeks.  We get the whole June and July off, then about half of August, but our summer break is getter shorter every year.
