I agree if it was ever added in the game...i think it should be optional because otherwise it would get extremely boring..plus i think there should be tons to do and different cool interactions and objects in there..so it would be a neat experience.

EA has already announced that schools and workplaces will be "rabbit-holes".
I'm glad. I don't wanna watch my sim play minesweeper from 9 to 5, or scribble in their margin for six hours.

What I don't understand, is if you play another sim, and want him/her to get some coffee in the shop where your other sim works, how does the rabbit hole situation work out?

maybe when it's the work hours of a sim in the family you're playing it's a rabbit hole?

in the sims 2 our sims can't work in coffee shops
but i'm just guessing it's 11 pm and i don't feel like going to bed and i'm trying to occupy myself
