Try living with it.
If the phone didn't ring all day, or if you didn't have a phone, that may be why you haven't noticed.
But try freetime for a sim week or so, with a phone...play games, watch TV, or do anything, and your phones would be ringing, pop-ups would be coming, and sims would be coming in your house like flies.

The phone ringing doesn't bother me, really.
And I just ignore the sims who randomly show up at my house xD rofl

This is probably random, just popping on in, but they make a hack for the constant ringing on Freetime. I hated it too but now that I have the hack, its better. No more phone calls! The popups still come, but it isn't very frequent and with the ones where you are loosing hobby interest, they come but then disappear in an instant. It's called no hobby spam.
