I guess I'm lucky. My period has never started in the middle of the night or in the middle of the day. My first period, I got noticed that morning when I went to the bathroom. I always get it in the morning before I go to school or the night before, before I go to bed.

Sommie, I had the same problem. Until like yesterday xD.
Try Playtex Sport.
And it's very probable your not putting it in the right spot.
As gross as it might sound you gotta poke around for a while until you
know what angle it goes up in. Plus if it hurts your not doing it right.
When you put it in it doesn't even hurt so no reason to be nervous about it.
You only feel a little sliding. And DON'T take it out t'ill it's full. It feels sooo weird. D:

I use playtex sport too. Tampax pearl also works well.
And it does take a while to find where to put it at first. I had to use a mirror for my first few times. And if you put it in at an angle it shouldn't hurt at all.
Or
You could just follow the instructions and diagrams that come inside the box. Lol

Yea, but your tube only goes one way lol I guess it's really just finding the right place.
Once you do it your first few times you can use whatever after.
It makes it a little bigger

Well, if nothings ever been in it..and it's a bit smaller...putting something in it would make it as big as the tampon?
Actually I just checked and it's not proven. So technically my statement it pretty untrue.
I guess it just gets easier once you know it fits and it doesn't hurt. It's all nerve
