There we go.

Witchie told me to "Hide" it, and leave it that way a day or two.

What are you hiding?

Re: Dragon Cave - The Official Thread - Majick - 11-04-2009 06:50 AM

The Season Egg with the Soft Shell.

It got too many views too fast, so the Shell has become too soft.  So, to make sure it hatches and doesn't die, I have it hidden so people can't view/click it.  I'll keep it hidden for a day or two, then unveil it so people can click it again.

Soft Shell? You get that for too many views?

Re: Dragon Cave - The Official Thread - Majick - 11-04-2009 06:55 AM

Too many views, too fast.

Without actually writing up a full explanation of soft shell, soft shell occurs when an egg receives too many views too quickly in relation to the number of clicks or unique views it has.

In Majick's case, she got 1197 views on an egg which only received 113 *unique* views and 6 clicks within the first 24 hours of the egg's life, which is *a lot* for a new egg. So basically the egg then developed soft shell.

The good news is, if an egg has soft shell, it has enough views to hatch on its own once unveiled. The bad news is, a fogged egg can't hatch (and a fogged hatchling won't grow up), so though they do need to be fogged for a while to keep from dying from the sickness they do also need to be unfogged in order to grow.
