I've just looked through the pictures of Sims 3 on http://snootysims.com and I think they are horrible.
It seems like Sims 2 is so much better than Sims 3.

It seems like a polished up version of The Sims 2, honestly. There is not such a huge graphics gap like there was when TS2 came out after TS, but PCs nowadays are evolving slower as well. I can see already a big difference, though. Don't forget that the game is a work in progress so far, and there's a lot that's probably going to change before the official release.
Also, if the graphics looked much more real, let's face the truth, our computers WOULDN'T handle the game. I remember when Doom 3 came out - ok, the graphics looked brilliant, but only 1 computer out of, let's say, 10000 would play the game. I don't want a game that takes 3 hours to load... But that's just me. *shrugs*
What I want to improve the most is the gameplay and the AI.
But tomorrow we'll know for sure how the game is going to look like.
