Re: The Sims 3 leaked - ChalyssaMuch - 20-05-2009 02:50 AM you know that very well could be true...but then again why would they set people up to steal from their company? in a sense i do feel bad for them but then again i dont because they're super greedy. Re: The Sims 3 leaked - b-rad - 20-05-2009 02:54 AM Well, as long as the people who download it BUY the game afterwards, it doesnt bother me. I mean, I completely understand that! If you want to see if it will work, or if you want the game, try it for free! Like a BIG demo! But don't be CHEAP and keep a pirated version. Buy the game, its much better! I understand that it is hard for people to wait, but if they buy the game, it makes no difference to me. REAlly, as long as you pay for the game afterwards, like good people should, there is no harm done at all. That is my point of view. Like Yo! , Cassie, and even myself, we are possibly downloading it, but are going to buy it too to show our support. I dont find that betrayal, or cheating, or anything of the sort. The same thing happened with Spore - it was leaked about a month and a half before the release, and studies were done that suggested that had it not had the extra advertising and promotion BECAUSE of the piracy, sales wouldn't have been what they were. I'm not saying this is a fact, but I'm leaning towards believing it. The fact is, EA has been holding this game hostage for four months, and now miraculously it's leaked. I don't know. It seems fishy to me... Re: The Sims 3 leaked - ChalyssaMuch - 20-05-2009 02:57 AM (20-05-2009 02:54 AM)Brad. I preordered the game back in February and I fully intend on getting the game the morning it is releaded. As of right now I'm not planning on downloading it because I have some cleaning up to do around my hard drive, but if I do it will only be temporary. Besides, there IS a chance that the leaked version isn't 100% complete. And also, you can't use TS3 website with a pirated version due to the protection online (I read about that somewhere too - basically the website has a filter that will detect pirated versions and report them, or something along those lines). BOTTOM LINE - as long as in the end you are going to give the company your money, getting a preview really isn't a big deal. I don't find that betrayal, or cheating, or anything of the sort. If you're downloading it that's your decision but it's best not to be mentioned on this forum. As Matt said previously it is an illegal activity and should not be discussed here. Legal things, yanno?
Re: The Sims 3 leaked - ChalyssaMuch - 20-05-2009 03:07 AM Yeah i dont think i will get tempted enough to download it the fear of getting caught is too strong... its not worth it when the game is so close to being released.. Re: The Sims 3 leaked - yummybunny - 20-05-2009 03:15 AM I agree. 15 days is not that long...I mean, it will pass by in no time, and you will think back when TS3 was leaked and laugh due to the short amount of time in between. Plus, let's say one does download it, when they buy it, they would have to delete their families and stuff. I agree with Chalyssa, it is not really worth it at this moment. Re: The Sims 3 leaked - saminsim - 20-05-2009 06:55 AM Yea your right. I was thinking about downloading it but since i've been so hyped about it I don't want to spoil my anticipation, i know that sounds weird but as other people have said, it's going to be worth the wait and it's definatley not worth the risk. ITA. ![]() But I think this is the problem... sure there are decent Simmers who would and will purchase the game and show The Sims Series support by purchasing the game when it's out, but then there are cheap 'fans' who'll download the leak and never buy the game afterward in which case EA loses another possible customer. =\ Oh well, the leak isn't my fault and it's really not my problem.
