Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - serp3821 - 22-11-2009 02:45 AM 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' I wanna read that one now apart from 'Tales from 1001 Nights' and 'Selected Tales of the Brothers Grimm' Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - saminsim - 22-11-2009 02:45 AM edit; I'm a bit late. xD I agree with [removed]. If you read books that have become popular over the years then you can't really engage with the book becuase you haven't read it out of curiosity or just plain enjoyment. I started reading HP books becuase I enjoyed them and I felt part of them. Though I didn't really understand them back then, they were a haven and somewhere I could go to forget about everything. Hp is basically a fable and a conjoining piece between Jo's life and a life she never had. Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - gothika - 22-11-2009 02:47 AM I never thought of that way Sam. Oh you go deep. Popularity is just over-rated. Ah. The books are a bit boring and dreadful[hence the series xD],but when I was younger I absolutely LOVED the series! I loved a Series of Unfortunate Events. Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - serp3821 - 22-11-2009 02:50 AM I never thought books were so interesting before, books to me were boring but not anymore, it unleashes your imagination, creates and escape, and helps when you`re bored or cannot sleep but for most of the time, it is good for your mind and soul, my opinion Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - bobert26 - 22-11-2009 02:51 AM I love books. Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - saminsim - 22-11-2009 02:55 AM @ Steven and Robert. Maybe you guys should make an Offical Book Thread. You mean HP? ;O Re: Harry Potter - Official Thread 2! - Cassie - 22-11-2009 02:55 AM Well I wouldn't be opposed to reading a book for it's popularity. I have to WANT to read it aswell I suppose. I'm not going to look at a book and think 'oh well this is so super popular and all that but I think it looks crap but I'm going to read it because it's super popular so it has to me like mega amazing'. Only retards think like that. xD If it's popular and I can see why it might be, then yeah, I'll give it ago. But with HP and Twilight, neither were popular like they are now when I picked them up, so I guess I just got lucky there. I bet there's a book or series out there now, or soon to be out there, that I haven't/won't read before it gets famous. And if it's popular and it looks good to me, then sure I'll read it.
