I saw that there is a new 'Despicable Me' movie coming to the cinema soon and then I saw that the first one was on telly a few nights ago so I taped that and watched it yesterday. It was quite sweet. I like those little yellow guys. Also I was pleased to see that they had correctly depicted the adverse effects on the tides if an animated criminal mastermind ever did succeed in shrinking and stealing the moon.
Next up to be viewed will surely be 'Man of Steel'. Yeah!

'Man of Steel' has now been viewed. Certainly it was loud with plenty of fighting and rushing about. I had to watch it 3D because the 2D version is only on as a matinee from today and I do not like going to the cinema in the afternoon. Ah Henry Cavill, he is a dish in a cape.
Probably not the brightest idea I've ever had to go and watch a fast-moving 3D movie when my eyes are so boggled from looking at my ludicrously unfocused PC screen all day though. Poor old eyes. Let's put them to sleep for a few hours. Off we go!

So did you see the Dish in a Cape yet, Ollie?
Head of IT sent me this video today. I really enjoyed watching it so I thought I'd share it with you guys. It is a nice short version of the movie, in a way, but even if you're not interested in the film it shows how much VFX stuff they did for The Great Gatsby movie.
I think it must be really difficult to act a part surrounded by all those blank screens! And stately homes as film sets are now completely unnecessary, apparently, since you can just film in a field and then superimpose a picture of one onto a blue sheet later on!

I should be able to see the steel man on Thursday, unfortunately I didn't get to see it over the holidays. Let's just hope that time won't be an issue as it did come out a while ago.
Anyway, I watched Accidents Happen the other day for the second time (it was on TV). Jeez I love that movie, it gives a great sense of youth (maybe that's because I'm still considered young) and tragedy with a slight touch of comedy. My only gripe is that it's an Australian movie, yet it is set in America, which bugs me, because why does everything seem to set in America? Either way if you get the chance to see it (which is unlikely considering it is Australian) I suggest you do so.

Everything tends to get set in America because so much of the world's media is within or controlled from it; it makes it much easier to be noticed if you have some American connection. Look at all the war movies where American predominate in events they had shag all to do with eg. The Great Escape.
I'll admit I've never heard of the movie, but I'd not heard of Tomorrow When The War Began until I caught it by chance. The Europeans make brilliant movies but you only hear of one non-English language film being talked about by the "experts" a year at best.
Has anyone saw that film "Into The White" Rupert Grint done last year?

I went to go see Pacific Rim yesterday in 3D. It was really good, and I think if you're thinking of seeing it, then 3D is the way to go. It's more for those who are into visuals as a opposed to a developed plot.

I'm going to sit & watch "Mischief Night" until it is cold enough to be able to go to bed & get some sort of sleep, which will probably be 3am considering it is 26 degrees right now inside

I can't believe I haven't gotten to see Man of Steel yet. I guess I shall be waiting until I can borrow it from Blockbuster when it comes out on bluray (unless of course Blockbuster are completely wiped out before then).
Anyway, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty looks interesting judging from its trailer.
It's good to see Ben Stiller doing something different with what appears to be a semi-serious movie.

It looks interesting. What it doesn't look like is Walter Mitty, & seems to be trading in on the name. Mittyesque characters have become such a staple of TV & cinema, do we need a new Walter Mitty movie anyway?
