Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - Cassie - 19-07-2009 02:21 AM Adding to Bambi's nice list of plots missing, I was sad to not see Bill & Fleur around, either, y'know? They're cute. But they're keeping the wedding in the next film, so I guess they'll squish it in at the start. Okay, now I'm ready for the next installment. GIMME DEATHLY HALLOWS, WEINER BROTHERS! *protests* Back to HBP; To say this film, in regards to action and major plotlines, didn't have so much, I was kept entertained the entire way through. It's much more relaxed than OotP, which was way too fast-paced and I'll bet none-book readers were pretty much stumped. It focuses on its characters and relationships a little more, which I think was needed, and I love it. It's a nice calming before the storm, or in other words, before we get all mega with Deathly Hallows. This was the last film we'll enjoy the confines of the castle throughout the film. Next time we see it... well, you know. ![]() Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - bobert26 - 19-07-2009 02:40 AM Thanks Bambi... The thing with The Order of the Pheonix is that it really shows fear in the wizarding community. One thing I noticed in the Film that I didn't notice in the book was that halfway through the movie, when Umbrige and the ministry has gained full control of Hogwarts... the whole atmosphere becomes different. Like Hogwarts has become a mini dictatorship. BTW Don't you just love when in the end of Deathly Hallows Mrs. Weasly screams, "Get away from my daughter you bitch!" To Belatrix (I think) lol that seemed so funny. Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - bambigoddess - 19-07-2009 04:41 AM Yep, that bit is classic. And yes, it's directed to Bellatrix. Haha, I absolutely love it! Awesome Molly moment. I always knew she had it in her. XD People keep saying "they better not freaking cut that"...and I agree! They better not. Especially since they really have no reason to, considering they get to spread the book out to two movies. ![]() I'm SOOO looking forward to it! As much as I adore HBP, I'm with Cassie...bring on DH P1! You know what's depressing, though? We have a year and a half to go before it's released, and that's only if that date sticks. After the success of OotP in the summer and the likely even greater success of HBP, there may be a chance they'll decide to release DH P1 during the summer, too. Though I'm hoping, if they do, they'll push it up to July of '10, not push it back to July of '11 as that's the slated release for DH P2. BUT. These are the last two movies. They need to be absolutely epic, so if they need a year and a half, or even two years, to make sure that it is, fine by me. ALSO. These are the last two movies! We need to treasure them. Seriously. 'Cause once they're out, it's...I can't even say it. {unsure} And now I'm rambling. Time for Bambi to go to bed. {rolleyes} XD OH! But before I do, I just want to say something about OotP: I agree, it was soooo fast paced. I have this funny habit of trying to see the movie through the eyes of someone who hasn't read the book yet, and I could EASILY see the viewer being confused. And it didn't flow as nicely as HBP did. I mean, in all fairness, OotP is MASSIVE. The biggest book in the series, obviously. There's a freaking lot of background info and explanation and whatnot (you know, whenever Harry's not being so angsty). But still...compared to HBP, OotP falls quite short. Okay, NOW I'm off. XD
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - bobert26 - 19-07-2009 04:21 PM I honestly just about started balling when I finished reading DH... lol. The Epilogue made me sad. When the first movie came out I was six! When the last movie comes out I'll be almost 16... Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - Cassie - 20-07-2009 07:05 PM When the first came out I was 8, when the last one comes out I'll be 18. I'll officially be an adult. XD Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - b-rad - 20-07-2009 10:45 PM SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER!!! Also, if you read my whole post, then you rawk =D I just saw the movie!!!! OMG it was AMAZING!!!! IT was so funneh, especially when Ron was dating Lavander and when he had the love potion XD. The movie was a perfect blend of comedy, drama, suspense, and action! I love the cave scenes. It was my favorite part of the movie! I missed the whole Christmas party because I was about to pee my pants {blush} The Burrow Being Attacked was another great thing. Even though it wasnt in the book, they did it well in the movie. It was so sad!! IT was Molly's look that did it. It was horrible I wanted to pimp slap Bellatrix there, and when they kill Dumbledor. She is like, prancing around, and kicking bottles and having fun!! That bisnatch. Also, I almost peed my pants when Harry reached for the water. I knew it was going to happen, but still! However, Dumbledor's death was very disappointing. I did not like that at all. I really wished they had the funeral!! It was so beautiful in the book, with the Mermaids Singing, and the centaurs shooting the arrows, the ghosts all out in daylight, Hagrids brother, and Luna helping Nevil in his seat!! I loved that part! I think that the person who played Narcissa was not good for the part. I always imagined her with a flare of well, no other word for it, but naughty XD Not the dirty kind, but the little kid kind lol. I imagined her younger, and with WHITE BLOND HAIR, not a mix of brown on top -.- I konw they werent important, but I wish they had some of the lessons. Im just weird like that XD And what was with Harry not getting in trouble for almost killing Malfoy? I also wish that Bill And Fleur were in the book. I liked them there :I Luna was great in this movie! she captures her essence, which is very hard with movies based on books. I never really thought that the new Dumbledor was like the Dumbledor in the book. He never got the slightly insane, silly humor of him. He was always serious XD The old one was perfect, but then he died I cant wait for the new movie!!!! Im glad they are spliting it up into 2 movies ![]() I want them to have EVERY DEATH!! There are so many, and they are all horrible ![]() They need to have Dobby Fred Lupin and Tonks AT LEAST. Those were the saddest deaths for me Okay, enough for me. XD Movie was great, and I wish it were 8 hours long so it could have all of the parts in the book XD Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - 2qewl4u - 20-07-2009 11:08 PM I stopped myself from reading your post, Brad. Talk about strong will-power! XD You should put a "spoiler alert" or something on top.
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - b-rad - 20-07-2009 11:10 PM I didnt realize it was that long, I just kind of typed XD I added the spoiler thingies
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - Cassie - 21-07-2009 06:00 PM WEEEEEEEEEEEE! I did not expect you to see it yet Brad, so this is awesome!! *happyydancee* I don't actually know why, I was just really looking forward to you seeing it. Same goes with Sommie, I think she might be seeing it today. I really hoped you both would love it. One down, one to go! XD I'm away right now and about to head out so I can't reply epically like I would per usual, yet. I'll do my best tonight when I get back! Prepare yeeselves! Highlighting on a small handful of your points; The inferi scene is damn scary. But you know what's funnier? Go see it a second time, then you'll know it's coming, and sit at the back, and watch everyone below you as the scene occurs, you will laugh your 'chair area' [not-so-inside joke] off!! Everyone jumps out their skin. Bellatrix is so evil but... I have this strange lesbian crush on her. {blink} If I swung that way, I so would! She's amazing. And I agree about Malfoy's mum. YAWN. She was so badly cast. The original woman selected to play her was pretty and very blonde, much more like Nrcissa should've been. WHAT was with the random brown carpet on her head? ![]() Anyhoo, I want to say so much more, but I can't because I absolutely have to go now. I will later! ALSO, PEOPLE!! Tody is the second anniversary of Deathly Hallows being released!! This time two years go I was bawling over an era ending. I finished the book by now, I know. I was distraught! This is so strange, that two years past so quickly. It' a peculiar time for a LOT of HP fans, so yeah, just thought I'd put tht out there. Before I know it, it'll be 10 years, then 20, then 50 and I'll be an ugly old crazy lady. *sigh*
Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Official Thread - b-rad - 21-07-2009 06:20 PM The Inferi scene made my sister literally SCREAM XD Bellatrix is my all time FAVORITE villain. She freaking rawks at being a horrible human being!! Everybody loves a good villain is what I always say ![]() Well, at least she didnt have a vey big part in this movie -.- They cast her not very well at all XD |
