Imagine the Simsworld looking like that or at least sorta like that ! awwwwww it wud be soooo beautiful! I hope the Sims 3 will be made in directx 10 ways =)

That looks amazing! But I don't think I'm ready for the Sims' world to look like that yet. I like the cartoon dream-like graphics the Sims 3 has.

yea i agree, it'd be different if it was a shooting game or
something but since theres humour in it, it wouldn't look
as funny as the expressions the cartoony sims have.
it is really amazing how much they've accomplished in

The sims3 was built on Directx 10
its gonna look like that and Directx 10 is for WINDOWS vista users only. not mac not linux and not xp!
so if you have a mac im going to give you a HAHAH
P.s You better switch to xp Microsoft wont support xp next year because windows 7 will come out June 19 2009,

That's where you're wrong actually. Erm i presume directx is on Xp because well my friend on thruday brough a new graphics gard nVidia geforce 9300 GTS with directX 10 and well it works fine and by the way sims 3 is coming out on mac so i suggest u take ur haha back. I dnt use Mac but EA sed themselves that it will come out a few months after and plus it will be running on directx 9 and above so stop being so annoying!

I agree completley 100% ilovearsenal. Maxis wants everyone to enjoy this game, directed at the fans especially and new fans a like. So I do believe that Windows XP will be fine, the only time I would say that you should be worried about this is if you have an old, very old Windows 95 computer that only works well with the Sims 1, {lol} {lol} - but other than that - just wait and be patient and we will all see how things turn out when the game is released - and if anybody has problems whether you have XP, VISTA, or any other model - then address it. 8)

yes scene23 you are correct there. The only time we will know is when they give out the requirements which will be out by december at lease. So people don;t worry yet and dnt listen to other people. And nowadays, they have Upgrades where you can upgrade your system or you can refurbish your PC for cheap by buying what is required for you to play the sims 3. So let's wait and see.
But what i am worried about is the fact that they will be using secuROM but we can;t be stressing about that niether because maybe one persons may experience worse and someone better.

DirectX 10 is not on a mac -.-
macs use different technology( Cocoa ) , it might look the same on both platforms but there will be small changes, games work fast on a pc,
and DirectX 9 is for windows xp,
Next time please use your REAL information before making it up,
by then DirectX 11 will be out in 2009, so watch the graphic differences on a mac and pc,
and iv seen windows 7, and its may better than vista + DirectX 10

That is why they are making a SEPERATE CD for mac users and plus u can load directx 10 on an xp PC but they have not made one specifically for xp. And It has no been confirmef that sims 3 will be running on directx 10 anyway

Julzz before getting overly excited - you are not a professional either, neither one of us works for Maxis or EA, or on The Sims 3 project so we can only assume how things are going to turn out. I do want to say though, no matter what, DirectX 10 of DirectX 9, Maxis knows what they are doing - and I'm sure they will not make it very difficult for players having to play the game, by buying a new computer, upgrading and so forth. {rolleyes} Be Patient, only four months away.
