I just bought the sims2 game,again...but my cd rom won't read it so I can install it. It plays the Sims1 with no problem. I have a dell computer and windows xp. Can someone help me please? {woot}

Do you have the latest drivers?
Does your computer meet the minimum specs?
Also, have you rebooted?

In addition to Bat's suggestions, is the game a DVD and perhaps your dell only has a CD drive?
