Terminate. . . ? - Joann - 26-01-2009 06:56 PM

I start the game, enter Pleasentview, enter the Douse family and on the family loading screen I get this :

Excuse the bad graphics(:

Anyway, I've tried cleaning my laptop out of all un-needed or un-used items. I only have about 1OO peices of CC since I cleaned it out, and that's not a lot compared to the 5OO I did have. I don't know what could have triggered it, because I re-downloaded all my CC a few nights ago. I havn't downloaded anything else new.
Do I need a patch?
I've tried re-loading the game about three times now. I've also tried rebooting my laptop.

Try removing all CC.

Also, try a patch.

And make sure you have the drivers.

I tried a patch, but it said my game was already updated.

I've heard that un-installing and re-installing does the trick, but I don't want to loose my legacy family. Do you know of a way to keep the family and still be able to un-install?

Copy the folder to your desktop, uninstall and then reinstall and then copy the folder on your desktop back over to your EA games folder.

Which folder?
The whole Sims 2 folder located in the EA games folder? I only need the Douse family if I'm having to uninstall then reinstall.
But anything that will save them works (:

Just go to the EA Games folder under your 'My Documents' folder and copy 'The Sims 2' folder to the desktop. Uninstall the game. Then reinstall. Finally, replace the new 'The Sims 2' folder with your 'The Sims 2' folder from the desktop. It will keep families, CC...you name it.

That's what I was thinking.
Thanks (:

I'll do that tomorrow after school.

You don't need to save the whole folder, just the folders inside that has your stuff in them, like the downloads folder.

To save your familiy, you just neeed to copy the neighbourhood folder. (and if that family has CC in it, then the downloads aswell)

So since they live in Pleasentview, I'll only need to copy&&paste N001?

Yes. I was just giving her the easiest way to do it.

Beware, whatever folders you don't copy you will lose what they contain.
