What are you doing right now?

RE: What are you doing right now?
My sister and I were talking about that yesterday. Why does HP very briefly participate in the Oscars every year? With the quality of the films, they should be nominated for way more Oscars imo.

I am not/have never been active on any forums except for Sf haha
I bought a leather jacket today WOOP. Have been wanting to get one for forever but they were too expensive.

I'd be happy for you... but I am really, really, REALLY against wearing leather. It's disgusting. A lot of animal suffering went into that jacket. I hate to sound horrible, but I've seen what goes on and it brought tears to my eyes. The animal is skinned alive in inhumane ways and I don't support it.

I've dabbled on quite a few forums, but this is by far the one I've gained the most prominence and memories from. Smile

It's not real leather. I watched a video of animals being skinned alive in China, I'd never support that. It's horrible.

It's a kids film, and kids films always get shafted at the Oscars.

Look at Spielberg, who did "Schindler's List" partly as a swipe at Hollywood pretensions.

Do a movie everyone loves with fantastic effects, and you are treated as low brow.

Do yet another Holocaust movie like the hundreds before, and you might as well start writing that acceptance speech (unless the story is as silly as John Boyne's "The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas"). As one sarcastic critic put it, "if you want to be a shoe-in, do a Shoah."

(That's not to say they're all like that, "Life Is Beautiful" is pure genius, rip-roaring hilarious and mouth-clutching horror in equal turns)

To be honest, since the first movie the Potter series has been downhill all the way, with changes of directors and the whole thing starting to look setwise like the sets of Resident Evil. A lot of the charm of the whole magicians world set out in the books was lost for the sake of being "dark" for the sake of it, and Goblet Of Fire was a disgrace with Rowling interfering in the script in order to relive her teen years through Emma Watson to the point Harry Potter was just another meat-head he-man character who was nothing without a clever woman behind him.

I didn't even bother to go and see Deathly Hallows. After so many crushing disappointments I'd sooner stick to the books.

If you have no cred on Gaia, you have cred. The converse also applies.

RE: What are you doing right now?
I talked about that with a friend before. But then we realized that they couldn't have made all 7 parts all magical and childish. The thing is that most HP fans have been fans since the beginning and they actually grew up with the series. Most of the fans are like 15-20 now so imo they had to make it a little bit darker as the audience the films are for are growing. That probably didn't make sense but oh well lol

RE: What are you doing right now?
Did you not think that the whole Tom Riddle at Hogwarts part was a little too much like they'd copied The Boys From Brazil just a tad?
