Wondering why Ollie has a post missing?
And now it's appeared once I've posted

RE: What are you doing right now?
Whenever we plan on going camping it never works out and we end up pitching our tents in someones back yard. Still fun though!

RE: What are you doing right now?
Reading TMN and they don't like that I recruited Switch to join Simpletons instead of here. The reasons for me to suggest Simpletons were that it's a very active forum, and because we have a chatbox and because Paco is there (they are friends). She can't play her game atm and she doesn't post in the threads, but sits in the chatbox. If she joined SimsForums instead she would not post at all. I hope she will become an active simmer again some day. But it's up to her. I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for the Mares and their fun stories with Switch in the first place!
Maybe I shouldn't have posted about having fun on Simpletons here, but I was happy and just wrote it without thinking so much about it. Yes I'm a moderator, but I didn't ask for becoming one. I refuse to see SimsForums and Simpletons as rivals, so maybe I'm not suited for the position. I recruited Pengy, Cat and LRM09 to SF, and because of us Vidkid made a new account here. They are all from Simpletons. I can't make everyone happy all the time.

I wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for the Mares and their fun stories with Switch in the first place! Before this ends up another TMN saga (and putting on my diplomat hat), to be blunt I don't want another person coming in here only because they've got problems with their game that we'll probably never hear from ever again. This is Sims Forums, not NRaas Industries! I see that the girl in question has made all of two posts upon joining Simpletons. Seems to me like a lot of effort was put in for little return, and reading from the chatbox material posted up, that is exactly what I would have expected. It read pretty clearly to me she DIDN'T want to join any forum but was browbeaten into it, and a reluctant recruit is no recruit at all. What other forums do is their affair, but I hope I speak for all of us when I say we want people to be here because they want to be here, not from temporary expediency ("please solve my game problem kthanxbai!") or because they feel pressured into it by their friends. We've had 113 posts on the forum last week and nine new threads started across the forum. This week alone there's been sixty four new posts and six new threads, and fourteen members have been on here in the last 24 hours (including BroadwayBeckons, who hasn't been on here for yoinks). We also have two new members, Beaglelover2008 from the officials and Ermannith from the Black Draught Legacy (making for another new nationality on the Sims Forums map - Romania! - and yet another story writer). See me worried or depressed? They are right however about Ollie being made a Moderator at the same time Majick and Munsta were removed (along in fact with three or four other redundant mods I'd never even heard of that hadn't logged in since 2008, and it would have been a lot sooner had I figured out how the MyBB console functions work properly! As I've explained before, I'm having to learn all this as I go along). I'd promised Ollie as much last year since he's stuck it out here during the hard times and we need mods we can rely on. With Cororon and Ollie (plus me, and Bat floating about somewhere in the background) there's now effective 24 hour cover for this place, which being a forum with members spread across the globe (and spambots attempting to get in here 24/7 as well!) was something that needed to be sorted with Matt being away for most of the time now with baby duties. We're more active now as a forum, and especially as a Sims forum than since I can remember when I first joined. If there's one thing I'm not right now, it's pissed off about anything. Especially with Heart Of Midlothian being in the Scottish Cup final (18-04-2012 02:30 AM)serp3821 Wrote: noticing how close am to reaching 10,000 posts wowYou'd have reached it by now if you didn't keep deleting your posts

But that's to be expected when simmers with problems search for a "sims forum" on google and find this forum listed just under the official EA forum. Problems in the game are frustrating and people panic... I know how it feels like. Quote:I see that the girl in question has made all of two posts upon joining She posted an introduction only because I wanted her to. She prefers instant messaging in chatboxes. I kinda agree with you, but I'm like a simmer mommy and I don't want her to lose contact with the simming world. Paco is with me on this, so he does sometimes agree with the swedish au pair. :mw_fist: Maybe she will return to the game some day, but it's up to her and we don't want to be too pushy. True, and one thing I like is that I don't feel a pressure to post here any more. I can post because I want to, and that feels a lot better. :mw_smirk: And I'm glad you're not angry. I have said good things about you and SF in the chatbox on Simpletons, and Zeri hasn't spanked me for that. Yet.
