Re: Families age together
I like the sound of the universal aging. Since I always tend to make 'stock' families for my sims to have as friends and what-not. I'll probably have to make more of them as they age, but they'll actually progress which will be nice.
The notification idea is a good one, same with the option to speed/slow/turn-off the constant aging. I sort of see it so far as, they are setting it up so all of the sims will run their lives in auto-pilot and we're just there to intervene when we want. So we're not playing the Smith or the Cambell family, we're playing everyone at the same time. It's just a matter of where we put our attention. |

Re: Families age together
I don't like the idea of this at all.

Re: Families age together
My view of it is likely wrong, we'll have to wait and see. But for as good an idea as I think it is, I still hope they allow it to be toggled off in some way. If not, people will put out mods quick enough.

Re: Families age together
Like leafy said, other Sims in other houses will probably go on with their daily lives. We may get a pop up warning of other going ons in other houses ex: a pop up warning that little Oleg Sim is turning into a preteen! Would you like to exit this lot and go to the
Sim lot or go to the birthday party? New 17" Laptop with wireless printer/scanner combo-$1,400
Sims 3 Pre-order-$70
College Books-$500
Being envied by your friends while they cram for exams and you play TS3- PRICELESS!!!!

Forget Visa, Mastercard, and American Express- it pays to Discover!!!! |

Re: Families age together
My theory on the universal time is that each neighborhood is treated as if it were one large individual household/lot in the sims 2. In the sims 2 time passed for everyone in the household you were playing in at the same time, this was manageable because you could switch between the individual sims on the fly in real time. My point is that maybe because the neighborhood is one open playing field (no lots), perhaps you will be able to switch your sim to any other player controlled sim on the fly in real time regardless of household. This would solve any problems with the universal time. Notifications would come up if another sim in another household was doing something of interest, and then if you wanted you could instantly switch, like the system they are going to have for food and bathroom. It still seems a little chaotic, but I can't see them handling this universal time thing any other way. Thoughts?

Re: Families age together
Here's a quick list how universal time might work...
Did I miss anything? (PS: TS2 FT hood picture looks much cooler then the current hood.) Iâll have something creative here youâll see.. |

Re: Families age together
I'm kind of nervous about that too, then its like you could only control one family, and that wouldn't be cool, like if you just wanted tot ake abreak, and you get back and everything is different :-\
