Sims 3 small problem

It won't allow you to update?  Just putting in the expansion pack disk should automatically start that up, or at least ask you for permission to do so.  You can also open the launcher and click "Game Updates" and hit "update now"

This is all, of course, assuming you have a legal copy of the sims3.  If you don't, there might be nothing you can do.  If it is a legal copy and it won't let update try contacting EA's customer service.  They can help way more than us.
