New ways 2 die

This will sound pathetic and all, but I can only work out how to kill my sim in 2 ways - old age and drown them.

And I don't want to drown them, but if I want some death drama in my sims life, I have to put them in a pool and take out the steps to get out, so they're like, trapped in there til' they die.

Or can you just like, not feed them, and am I being very stupid?
