I've been playing for about 2 hours and I have to admit, I think the game is horrific.

I'm leaning towards not buying it after reading the players horror stories. And yours is one of them. It's not something that can be helped with a patch?

You know, some people people who have never played the original Sims might find it very good. It's just that most people who are used to TS1/TS2/TS3 will probably be expecting something similar in The Sims Medieval and they get disappointed when it's nothing like them. It's just a completely different type of game. All you do is go on quests and stuff, not so much of an open free-play like the other games. As far as families go it's like Sims 1. You can get married, have a baby, it grows into a child and that's it. you can't control it.
