Language barriers...
I am very, extremely annoyed. Language barriers have ruined one of my best friendships ever.
You see, I live in El Paso. It may be next to Mexico, but it's still part of AMERICA, alright? Well, you see, everyone speaks Spanish here. EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE ENTIRE SCHOOL except myself. This is my Mom's fault. (More reasons to be angry at her. >_>) Anyway, one of my best friends hangs out with this girl who speaks Spanish all the time. They converse in Spanish. Now, I sit right there and look at them like they're speaking Chinese, and my friend wonders why I'm annoyed all the time. Ugh. You know, I'm very tempted to throw her into a room of people who know English, but they speak German even in the presence of someone who doesn't understand. See how she likes it. So what do you think? Do I have the right to be annoyed? Does my friend have a better reason? [center]
CHICKEN NUGGETS.
i'm eating some right now. no, you can't have any, you imbecile! |

Re: Language barriers...
People talk Kurdish[We have alot of Kurdish people around our school] and they talk their language, sometimes I'm like why don't you talk english?
I don't even speak my language[mostly cause I forgot it {lol}],but I do understand it...enough. My dad talks in my language[Bengali] around people who speak the language. It's annoying! I hate it when Spanish speakers[whether it was your first language or not] talk, and they talk about people. I have nothing against Hispanics,Mexicans or Latinos, it just gets annoying when they talk about you,and you don't even know what there saying. |

Re: Language barriers...
It s considered rude to speak in a language that one person present for the conversation doesn't understand.
The trouble is manners are becoming a thing of the past. I would be annoyed if friends did that to me. and yes you have every right to be annoyed. Start speaking Simlish and see how they like it. {lol} |

Re: Language barriers...
It's her second language, but still, America is an English-language country.
Heather is right! I'm going to start singing in Simlish and when they ask what I'm saying, I'll ignore them, just like they ignore me.

Re: Language barriers...
I can see it now: You will start singing in Simlish and all the sims fans will join in.
You will be very popular then, and probably make new friends.
